Old Catholic Diocese of the Pacific - Serving Communities

Our Communties

The Old Catholic Diocese of the Pacific is dedicated to serving spiritual needs in California, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, Alaska, and Hawaii with compassion and commitment.

The Franciscans of Restored Hope

The Franciscans of Restored Hope (FRH) is our Franciscan religious community, rooted in the Gospel and the spirituality of St. Francis of Assisi. Based in Southern California, the community embraces a life of prayer, simplicity, service, and fraternity.

Our ministry is centered especially among people and communities pushed to the margins—not simply serving from a distance, but being present, accompanying others, and offering pastoral care grounded in dignity, compassion, and hope.

The Saint Max Kolbe Mission

The St. Max Kolbe Mission serves those living and working on Skid Row, El Pueblo and Westlake-MacArthur Park. Through a ministry of presence, we accompany our neighbors with compassion while recognizing and supporting the dignity of every person. The Mission provides food, comfort care items, and pastoral care.

Seminary of the Sacred Heart

The Seminary of the Sacred Heart provides accessible, inclusive theological education for those preparing for ordained ministry, lay ministry, and deeper service in the Church. Rooted in the Old Catholic tradition, the Seminary combines theological study with practical formation for ministry in today’s Church.

A religiously exempt institution in California, the Seminary offers associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degree programs, as well as certificate programs for clergy, lay ministers, and others seeking theological and spiritual formation.

St. Vibiana Circle

The St. Vibiana Circle serves individuals and families experiencing housing displacement through eviction, redevelopment, or gentrification. We provide advocacy, support, and, when funding is available, rental and legal assistance to help people remain safely housed. Inspired by St. Vibiana—whose earthly remains were themselves displaced several times over the centuries—we are committed to the work of housing justice, stability, and compassionate accompaniment.
